The third learning cafe took place on the 24th May with the focus of the cafe being on pupil participation in learning.  We had many confident individuals leading the stalls and sharing the ways in which they are actively involved in planning their learning.  Our P7 young leaders showcased the variety of clubs they lead for other stages in the school.  We also had the Rights Knights sharing lots of facts and information about the UNCRC as well as the Digital Leaders sharing some of their digital artwork projects they have been working on over the course of year.  We enjoyed taking part in Maths activties led by P7 and a wonderful perfomance from our Marvellous Maddiston Glee Choir.  The children felt very proud sharing their wider acheivements. Overall, a very successful day! 

On Friday the 15th March we had our second learning cafe on sustainability.  We had lots of interactive activities including a gardening station, make your own bird feeders and Maddiston green passport which contains 20 sustainable goals to complete at home and school. 

Our third learning cafe was held on 11th May and was a huge success.  There was a wonderful turn out of parents and carers for this cafe whose theme was languages.  The All Stars singing group opened our cafe and then everyone was free to visit the stalls.  There were three Spanish stalls run by P5-7 and three around Speech and Language. The nursery joined us to sing in French and show their counting.  We finished with everyone joining in our French five a day exercise.

Pupils joined their parents and carers for a drink and a cafe in our dining hall after sharing the learning in the main hall.

We held our second learning cafe on 19th January.  Once again, despite the weather, we had a huge turnout of parents and carers who attended with their children.  Our Rights Knights spoke about the rights of a child and everyone took part in an activity where they identified the needs and wants of a child.  P1-6 recited their Scots poems which they will be performing at our Scots Assembly on Wednesday 24th January.  some of our P6 pupils demonstrated a Number Talk and then everyone shared number talks with their parents and carers.  We finished our cafe with everyone taking part in Stop and Dance which is a weekly initiative that has been introduced in our school by the Healthy Heroes Citizenship Group.
