Lantern Walk

NADFLY is an artist studio specialising in placemaking and transformative social engagement.  They worked with the school on a community project called Window Lanterns.  The community were encouraged to make and display hand folded paper lanterns in their houses and porches to create a walkway of discovery.  Each lantern was made from specially selected paper, printed with one of five NADFLY designs and lit with a bespoke bicycle light.  Every household in Maddiston had the opportunity to take part in Window Lanterns by making their own at one of the community workshops or receiving one from the studio. The Lantern Walk took place on 27th February and 385 people and nine dogs walked around Maddiston village.  It was a huge success!
