Eco 2023-24
The school garden has continued to be a great success. The gardening group look after it very well and help to harvest the produce and collect seeds to grow plants the next again year. The Infants enjoy planting and caring for the seeds in the spring and the P7s enjoy using the produce cooking dishes in their classes.
Many classes have taken part in live lessons and activities in class for Climate Action week.
Our ECO committee chose to make outdoor grab-bags to encourage classes to take learning outside. They voted to call them ‘Busy Bee Bags’. The committee helped to make these bags and each class will be given one in the new year.
Eco 2022-23
We carried out an environmental review for the whole school and then chose two topics as well as Climate Action. We selected Biodiversity and School Grounds.
Local Area Art Project
Mrs Quinn and Mrs Lacarrini organised a local art project and each stage in the school were given a local area theme. The canvases were created using lots of different collage materials and in the P7 canvas they have included a piece of work from every child that was used as the background for the school brickwork. These canvases are on display in the P1 and nursery area for everyone to see.
