At Maddiston Primary School we have an event for parents to come along and listen and see what pupils have acomplished in school. Our pupils will talk all about and show what we are doing in school. We share our projects, our subjects and our acomplishments. The parents can also have a bite to eat and a cup of tea while they are there.
The first learning cafe of the year at the end of October was about our achievements. There was a fantastic turnout of parents and carers to share our learning and everyone left very positive comments.
January Learning Cafe
We held our second learning cafe on 19th January. Once again, despite the weather, we had a huge turnout of parents and carers who attended with their children. Our Rights Knights spoke about the rights of a child and everyone took part in an activity where they identified the needs and wants of a child. P1- P6 recited their Scots poems which they will be performing at our Scots Assembly on Wednesday 24th January. Some of our P6 pupils demonstrated a number talk and then everyone shared number talks with their parents and carers. We finished our cafe with everyone taking part in Stop and Dance which is a weekly initiative that has been introduced in our school by our Healthy Heroes citizenship group.
